• "I always like to reinvent myself and get carried away with new materials, new aesthetics, new challenges."

  • Define yourself in three words

    -

    Restless, persevering and sensitive.

Your first contact with the design world

    -

I honestly wouldn’t know what to tell you. I’ve always been self-taught. I came over from Uruguay when I was 19 and suddenly lived in Barcelona, where design is overflowing on every street corner. I like to think that the pair of Butterfly chairs in my parents’ house was my first contact with design, but it wasn’t until much later that I appreciated them like I do now.

The piece of furniture you’d save first in a fire

    -

An old suitcase that I bought at the Encants Market and now use as a trunk. I’ve had it with me since I got to Barcelona.

  • "Today we are in too much of a fast-changing world to try to stop time with one single formula."

  • A perfect place to live

    -

I don’t know how to answer that question. Our Instagram @somewhereiwouldliketolive is about that same idea, and believe me, there are an infinite number of responses. (laughs)

    An eternal icon

    -

The Cane Office Chair by Pierre Jeanneret.

A book that you love to reread

    -

Leonardo da Vinci’s Kitchen Notebooks. Apparently da Vinci was also a cook and had many ideas and inventions related to the art of eating. He invented napkins by tying rabbits to the arms of chairs so people could wipe their hands on them. It's full of fascinating anecdotes and eccentricities. I highly recommend it.

A character from fiction who you’d love to have a coffee with

    -

Owen Wilson in Midnight in Paris, that mix of enthusiasm and nostalgia!

  • A childhood memory

    -

Seeing my father sitting in the garden of my house in Uruguay, enjoying the cool air at dusk.

    Three basics from your wardrobe

    -

Black leather jacket, silk midi dress, my timeless Doc Martens.

The garment you love above all else

    -

    My navy blue trench coat

    A smell

    -

The smell of jasmine on summer nights.

The best advice you’ve ever received

    -

'Focus more on what you’re doing and less on what other people are doing'.
